CBC broadcasting stations focus on keeping things local. Our programming reflects our desire to keep a local voice on the air, providing CBC-produced programs for our viewers.
From the award-winning Smart Start Kids to Spiritual Awakenings, the longest running local gospel music program in the Southeast, WRAL-TV has produced a variety of local shows over the years.
Local affairs programs include Tarheel Talk, NC Spin and On the Record with WRAL Anchor David Crabtree. The Triangle’s first weekly bilingual local TV program, Hola, debuted on FOX 50 in February 2013. Brain Game is one of the few locally-produced quiz shows on TV. Local high school students have been battling wits on the program since January 1997.
WRAL has a documentary unit, a rarity for a local station.
WRAL-TV also produces a variety of specials including half-hour Tar Heel Traveler packages, programs celebrating the advance of local teams to national championships, and more. We air live local events like the Tall Ships Festival, the annual WRAL Raleigh Christmas Parade and the Fayetteville Veterans Day Parade, among others.
