“To be included on this list is a testament to the entire staff at radio. This doesn’t come with luck – but hard work and innovation.”
– CBC Vice President of Radio Brian Maloney
In radio terminology, cume is short for “cumulative audience.” This week’s ranking focuses on Nielsen’s top 25 adult contemporary stations ranked by weekly cume in persons 12+. Find out more of the specifics in the full article:
“To be included on this list is a testament to the entire staff at radio,” said CBC Vice President of Radio Brian Maloney. “This doesn’t come with luck – but hard work and innovation. Kudos to the leadership of WRAL-FM Brand/Content Manager Sammy Simpson and the entire programming/promotion staff at MIX for the hard work. It’s a pretty impressive number – nearly a half million tuning in MIX each week. The most impressive fact is MIX draws more listeners than similar stations in LARGER markets.”
WRAL-FM is one of a few stations on the list that outrank their markets when it comes to cume. WRAL-FM ranked 25th but is in market 37, Raleigh-Durham.
“What’s next?” said Maloney. “We want to (and will) move up the list! There’s no shortage of listeners when you offer compelling content.”
