Happy Birthday, Book Harvest!

Book Harvest Block Party at American Tobacco

Book Harvest held a community block party on Diamond View Park on Saturday, July 17, 2021, to celebrate the organization’s 10th birthday.

In celebration of their 10th Birthday, Book Harvest held a community block party on Diamond View Park on Saturday, July 17 from 1-4 pm.  Despite the 103-degree real feel, an estimated 2,000 adults and children enjoyed the event.

Entertainment included a chalk artist, The Bouncing Bull Dogs, Poetry Fox, Durham County Library Tech Mobile, Stormy from the Carolina Hurricanes, and The Scrape Exchange.  In addition to participating in American Tobacco Restaurants, local Food Truck flair was provided by Loco Pops and Mr. A’s Beignets.

Every child in attendance received a bag of culturally inclusive, age-appropriate books to take home and keep forever.  A contactless drive-through option was set up on Vivian Street.
