Rebrand part of Minor League Baseball’s Copa de la Diversión initiative
The Durham Bulls have announced a rebrand to “Cervezas de Durham” as part of Minor League Baseball’s 2020 Copa de la Diversión initiative. Copa de la Diversión is a season-long event series specifically designed to embrace the culture and values that resonate most with participating teams’ local U.S. Hispanic/Latino communities. The team will play as the Cervezas de Durham during a to-be-announced Latino Heritage Night next season.
Home to Minor League Baseball’s lone in-stadium craft brewery, Bull Durham Beer Co., beer is a cultural phenomenon in the Triangle. The Bulls pride themselves on providing good beer, good baseball and a good time. Bull Durham Beer is more than just a beer; it’s a memory and a unique experience brewed just steps away from home plate. By becoming the “Cervezas de Durham,” the team connects its memory-making experiences to the community-minded culture associated with its organization and city.
The jersey and on-field hat designs will be revealed in March 2020. For now, the Bulls are releasing their logos and select merchandise that is available online and in-store at the Ballpark Corner Store.
The Durham Bulls open the 2020 season at home on Thursday, April 9 against the Charlotte Knights.
