Triangle Business Journal Honors CBC on Healthiest Employer List for Third Year

TBJ Healthiest Employer Award

The Triangle Business Journal honored Capitol Broadcasting as a 2015 Healthiest Employer at a luncheon on Thursday, December 3rd.

The Triangle Business Journal has once again selected Capitol Broadcasting Company as one of the Healthiest Employers in the Triangle.  CBC ranked #23 on the 2015 list, making this Top 25 for the third year running.

Corp HR Generalist Katrina Brown accepted the award on behalf of CBC at a luncheon on Thursday, December 3rd.    The event took place at the Durham Convention Center.

“The 25 winners were honored for initiatives such as free weekly meditation classes and wellness reimbursement programs that pay employees back for gym memberships,” announced the TBJ.  “From offering treadmill desks to lactation rooms, the honored companies, from Fidelity to Red Hat had some creative ways to promote employee health.”

Capitol Broadcasting’s initiatives include the wellness program Be Active CBC, an annual Health Fair, and a comprehensive benefits package. Through the Be Active CBC, we offer a Reimbursement Program towards fitness activities such as gym memberships, fitness classes, personal training, nutritional counseling, and entry fees for 5Ks, races, etc.

CBC encourages all employees to earn their CPR certification and offers on-site training.  We offer on-site Weight Watchers classes as well.
