Players, Coaches, and Front Office Members to Shave Heads to Raise Funds to Cure Kids’ Cancer
The Durham Bulls have announced a partnership with the Vs. Cancer Foundation to Cure Kids’ Cancer. Bulls players, coaches and front office staff members are participating in fundraising efforts for the foundation, culminating with “Durham Bulls vs. Cancer Night” at the DBAP on Friday, August 28.
Following the game on the 28th against Charlotte, select players, front office members, and coaches – including Bulls manager Jared Sandberg – will shave their heads in support of children battling cancer. Each participant will be accepting pledges to help raise funds, as fans can donate online now at team.vs-cancer.org/bulls. There will also be a silent auction during the game featuring autographed team memorabilia. Half of all proceeds will benefit national childhood cancer research, and the other half will help kids locally at Duke Children’s Hospital.
The Durham Bulls’ current homestand continues through Sunday, August 23, featuring visits from the Toledo Mud Hens and Columbus Clippers. Tickets for this series, and all of the remaining thirteen home games of the 2015 regular season, are available at durhambulls.com, the DBAP box office, or by calling 919.956.BULL.
