The Durham Bulls players are frequently in the spotlight for their play on the field, but this Sunday the ballpark’s scorekeeper got some press.  Raleigh’s News & Observer focused on Brent Belvin in the July 12, 2015, edition of the paper.

Nick Gray penned ‘The hits (and errors) keep coming for veteran Bulls scorekeeper’ about Belvin who has been the Bulls’ official scorer for 27 years.  He’s never called in sick since he began the job while still a student at Duke.  He is social studies teacher at Jordan High School at Durham who has a passion for baseball.

Gray quoted Belvin saying, “‘I’ll keep doing it until they get tired of me doing it,’ he said. ‘I love baseball, and I love being able to do this and be a part of it.’”
