Football coaches and players from across the state gathered at the PNC Triangle Club at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park on Tuesday, July 30, 2019, for the annual HighSchoolOT Kickoff.

The HighSchoolOT Kickoff is an opportunity for coaches and players to hear from HighSchoolOT about coverage plans for the season. At the end of the presentation, every coach and player is interviewed on camera by HighSchoolOT staff.

Interviews conducted with players and coaches will be posted on HighSchoolOT.com and in the HighSchoolOT app.

Schools as far east as Williamston and New Bern were in attendance, while schools as far west as Valdese were represented. Close to 140 people attended the event, the largest HighSchoolOT Kickoff event since inception in 2008.

Bojangles provided lunch for all in attendance.

HighSchoolOT managing editor Nick Stevens spoke to the crowd about expanding coverage to the Triad and Charlotte markets this fall, HighSchoolOT Honors, and HighSchoolOT Live. Jeff Gravley, WRAL Sports anchor, discussed plans for the 39th season of Football Friday on WRAL-TV.

The first night of high school football is Aug. 23. Watch HighSchoolOT Live at 7 p.m., then tune into Football Friday at 11:35 p.m.
