Carrying on The CBC History Tradition: WRAL and Winter Weather

Throwback Thursday: CBC History

The dynamic duo behind Capitol Broadcasting Company’s extensive History Project put down the archives and retired at the end of 2018.  John Harris, who held a myriad of roles at WRAL-TV over the years including News Director, had previously retired in 2009, but in true CBC fashion came back to service as Director of Special Projects for the past several years.  Allen had worked as a newscast producer and director a few decades previous and had come back to the Big 5 to help Harris organize CBC’s History.

The pair did an impressive job digging through mountains of photographs, tapes, videos, trophies, and various other minutiae.  They organized all of that material, built a comprehensive CBC History website, and conducted interviews with CBC and WRAL legends for posterity.

In honor of Harris and Allen, Capcom will keep the CBC History Project alive by sharing some of the gems they housed on the CBC History website from time to time.
