For the second year, MIX 101.5 WRAL-FM and WRAL-TV are joining forces to feed hungry children through the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s child hunger programs. The stations will once again mount a day-long Mediathon on TV, radio, web, and mobile to raise funds on Wednesday, July 19, along with a multiple-location food drive.
One in four children is at risk of hunger in North Carolina, and more than half a million children are going hungry across our state. Inter-Faith Food Shuttle is feeding children at risk of hunger right now, and nurturing long-term solutions that provide access to fresh, healthy food.

About Inter-Faith Food Shuttle:
As a Feeding America food bank, Inter-Faith Food Shuttle recovers nutritious food that would have gone wasted and redistributes it to partner agencies. IFFS not only feeds the hungry through programs such as BackPack Buddies and Mobile Food Markets, but also teaches skills for self-sufficiency including culinary job training, buying and cooking healthy food on a budget, and even how to grow food. Using its tagline as a guiding principle— Feed. Teach. Grow.— IFFS’ grassroots approach empowers families in low wealth communities with job skills and education to build a hunger-free and healthy community.
