Presented by the Cumberland County Veterans Council and the City of Fayetteville
Live coverage begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7

For the fourth year, WRAL-TV and UNC-EX will broadcast the 2015 Fayetteville Veterans Day Parade, presented by the Cumberland County Veterans Council and the City of Fayetteville. Live coverage begins at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 7. WRAL News anchors Lynda Loveland and Michelle Marsh, along with WRAL Fayetteville reporter Gilbert Baez, will host the broadcast from historic downtown Fayetteville. Coverage includes military commentary from David Myhres, Fort Bragg Garrison, Current Operations Team Lead.

The theme of this year’s parade is “honoring women who served our nation.”  This year’s parade features Major General Marcia M. Anderson and Command Sergeant Major Yolanda M. Tate as Grand Marshals.

The parade will kick off with a flyover of a C-130 aircraft from the 440th Airlift Wing based at Pope Field on Fort Bragg.  The parade will have more than 100 participants including active duty military, numerous veterans’ organizations, military equipment, and ROTC units and marching bands from local high schools and universities.

The parade will begin on Hay Street at the Airborne Special Operations Museum and end at Liberty Point on Person Street.

WRAL is delighted to continue its partnership with the Cumberland County Veterans Council and the City of Fayetteville. Steven D. Hammel, WRAL-TV and FOX 50 Vice President and General Manager says, “Community partnerships are a powerful way for us to do more to support the towns and cities we cover. Our many partnerships represent our commitment as Fayetteville’s Local Station. This is one of the state’s finest parades and is dedicated to the generations of military men and women who have served us all so valiantly.  We are extremely honored to be a part of it.”

The official hashtag of the parade is: #WRALVetParade. The WRAL Production crew will be tweeting and sharing behind-the-scenes content before during and after the broadcast. Please join in!
